For Children’s Workers: Scripture Union Primary Age Training

Interested in training youth leaders within your church?
Seminars designed for youth leaders can be run for you within your own church (or a group of local churches) by negotiation with Scripture Union.

Girls on GymThere are 5 seminars (each 45-60 minutes in length):
  • Engaging with the Bible – 5 spaces we need to make to interact with the Word of God
  • Opening the Bible with Youth 1 – Understanding youth and youth culture and how to best encourage young people to engage with the Bible
  • Opening the Bible with Youth 2 – preparing talks and Bible studies for young people
  • Biblical theology of youth and youth ministry – helping youth leaders have a Biblical foundation for their approach to youth ministry
  • The BIG Picture – getting a handle on how the Bible fits together, and how God has been at work throughout history (with a focus on Genesis 1-17, and using the BIG resource) - this could be done for youth leaders, or with the young people themselves.

Approximate costs (by donation) range from $40 to $120 depending on how many sessions are run – from one hour to a whole day.

Cross-cultural training for local churches
Bridging the gap - lunchThe Bridging the Gap Workshop is for people in local churches who want to develop skills to engage cross-culturally with their neighbours. It examines cultural issues for ministering to both adults and children, and provides practical help and a great chance for networking with others facing the same challenges.

A joint program of Scripture Union, Interserve, Tabor Adelaide and the Uniting Church Centre for Multicultural Ministry.
